2022 Skegness Beach Race

: Date: 08 November 2022

The 2022 AMCA Skegness Beach Race certainly proved to be productive for the Chambers Racing Team. Topping the podium was the very talented Dan Thornhill, not only bagging a third Skegness success but also recording his maiden win aboard his new Chambers Husqvarna machine. Backing Dan up, teammate Ben Franklin took 3rd whilst having a rare outing aboard a 450cc powered mount. Completing the main Skegness top three was none other than Evgeny Bobryshev, a former double ACU British Champion and GP rider. This was not only the Russian’s first race outing in 2022 but also rather incredibly throughout his entire distinguished career a first ever Beach Race outing!

2022 AMCA Weymouth Beach Motocross

Following a long hard season racing, surely there can be no better way to wrap it all up than by being able to take your bike down to the beach for a sandblast and play! Well, that’s just what the Purbeck MXC were offering as in conjunction with the Portland and Weymouth Lions Club they staged the 2022 AMCA Beach Motocross event on Sunday.

2022 AMCA British MX Championship R7 at Nympsfield

Following six previous rounds which had produced plenty of great racing, drama and sadly a couple of tragic incidents, the destination of the 2022 AMCA British Motocross Championship titles were to be finally decided on Sunday. The venue for the finale was the hillside circuit at Nympsfield and although there was little further movement at the top of the standings in the respective classes, this last round promoted by the Uley MXC still served up some simply super action!

So this is it then, after six dramatic and exciting rounds the 2022 AMCA British Motocross Championship reaches its conclusion this weekend, Sunday,4^th. September at Nympsfield in Gloucestershire. With 8 out of 10 titles mathematically still up for grabs, it should be a thriller so get along to the hillside venue. The circuit can be found on the unclassified road between Nympsfield village and Nailsworth, just look out for the big wind turbine and you have found your destination.

2022 AMCA British MX Championship R6 at Brookthorpe

With the intended choice of Foxhill becoming unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, it left the AMCA frantically searching for a new venue to host the penultimate round of their 2022 British Motocross Championship sponsored by Dunlop. Thankfully the Cheltenham Spa MXC then stepped forward, kindly offering the use of their Brookthorpe circuit and despite the very short notice, what a fantastic event they promoted. On both days of action and despite the recent extreme heat, track conditions were absolutely spot on and in recognition of their efforts, the riders present then responded by producing a weekend of top class racing.

Get ready for Round 6!

The 2022 AMCA British Motocross Championship sponsored by Dunlop reaches it’s penultimate round this weekend, Saturday 20^th August and Sunday 21^st August, with two day’s of more frantic action. And what an interesting one it promises to be as after an enforced last minute change of venue, the riders will travel to Brookthorpe in Gloucestershire instead of tackling the intended old, former GP circuit at Foxhill, near Swindon in Wiltshire.

2022 AMCA British MX Championship R5 at Lower Drayton

Five full throttle, all-action and intense Championship moto’s in one weekend is physically and mentally a tough ask for anyone, so for a rider to then perform at the highest level and record an unbeaten score is surely a momentous achievement at any level of the sport! During round 5 of the 2022 AMCA British Motocross Championship sponsored by Dunlop and held at Lower Drayton in Staffordshire, both Luke Burton (FUS Marsh Geartec Husqvarna) and Matt Bayliss (Darjen Contractors GasGas) hit that incredible goal, so take a richly deserved bow gentlemen!

It’s back to ‘Double Header’ action this weekend for the AMCA British Championship riders as they head to Lower Drayton in Staffordshire for round 5. Leading the way at present are Josh Waterman (MX1), Josh Canton (MX1 Cup), Shane Carless (MX2), Callum Baldwin (MX2 Cup), Matt Bayliss (125cc), Joel Fisher (Youth 125cc), Gary Davies (Vets), Phil Mercer (Vets Over 50), Ollie Bubb (Youth 85cc) and Oliver Bebb (Youth SW85cc).

2022 AMCA British MX Championship R4 at Hawkstone Park

Just like marmite, the iconic Hawkstone Park is a circuit that divides opinions and one which riders either love or hate! Last Sunday, the famous old location hosted round four of the AMCA British Motocross Championship sponsored by Dunlop and the Shropshire going was to be in absolute prime condition. Displaying their affection and love for Hawkstone, Matt Bayliss (125cc), Gary Davies (Vets) and Freddie Gardiner (Youth 85cc) all scorched to maximum points whilst Luke Burton (MX1) and Nev Bradshaw (MX2) were also overall winners on the day.

Following three planned double header rounds, the AMCA British Motocross Championship sponsored by Dunlop goes to the iconic Hawkstone Park circuit this Sunday. And, for this latest chapter of the series, it’s just a one day affair so that means three hotly contested moto’s for all classes.

2022 AMCA British MX Championship R3 at Warmingham Lane

: Date: 08 June 2022

What a massive variation in track conditions round three of the AMCA British Motocross Championship sponsored by Dunlop was to produce! Testing a riders technical ability, determination and concentration to the maximum, day one at Warmingham Lane in Cheshire offered a dry, slick circuit with an ever increasing amount of dust followed then by very wet going on day two after the venue had been battered by overnight rain. Indeed that rain then continued to fall throughout Sunday’s proceedings but thanks to some extensive track preparation by the organising Middlewich MXC during the break between the two day’s, the event was completed with five full blocks of action. And that action was to prove very interesting, creating new leaders in the MX1, 125cc and Vets Championship standings.

After what as been a false start due to a couple of very tragic incidents, the AMCA will try again this weekend June 4^th/5^th to finally get their 2022 British Motocross Championship firmly up and running. With fingers firmly crossed that at last a full five blocks of racing can be safely completed, the Championship chasers go to Warmingham Lane in Cheshire for round three.

How can I start?

This all depends on what discipline you want to start with – some require you to take a licence whilst others are more flexible and allow you to turn up and ride. Once you have opted for a discipline, see the FAQ for more tailored questions.

What is the difference between motocross, enduro, and trials?

These are all different disciplines the AMCA caters for, along with much more. Motocross is fast paced, short races over both natural and man-made terrain with 36 riders going into a first corner. Enduro is more long distance, long duration events, usually through woodland. Trials is slow paced, technical, balance based over challenging short course with the object to go through without putting your foot on the floor.
