2026 AMCA British MX Championship R1

The new teenage kids on the block have certainly laid down a marker in the 2026 AMCA British Motocross Championship supported by Rokit Tyres, proving that they are both very capable and willing to take the challenge to the more established AMCA aces. During round one at Bevercotes last weekend, both Tyla Hooley (18) and Jayden Jones (16) produced simply stunning performances to thus score overall wins in the respective Open and MX2 classes.

The 2026 AMCA British Motocross Championship supported by Rokit Tyres kicks off this coming weekend, April 11^th/12^th and what a series it promises to be! Hosting the opener are the Ollerton MXC at their Bevercotes circuit and it’s certainly great to see this club back on Championship promotion duty after a break of several years.

Middlewich MX crowned AMCA Motocross of Clubs Champions!

When all of the individual honours have been handed out and the season is reaching its conclusion, attention generally turns to a bit of good old team event action! And, regardless of the motorcycling discipline, when its team time the competitiveness bar goes up a few notches as riders dig deep to find that last extra percentage of speed, strength and determination to end the campaign in glory! For the closure of 2025, the AMCA introduced their own new team event, the ‘Motocross of Clubs’ and what a success it was! Seventeen current AMCA clubs entered the contest with eventual victory going to Middlewich MX ahead of Tameside MXC and Potteries MXC.

There’s a new and very interesting motocross battle this coming Sunday, October 26^th at Lower Drayton in Staffordshire. AMCA Events introduce the Motocross of Clubs , based on the format used for the annual Motocross of Nations.

2025 Weymouth Beach Motocross

Attracting its best entry numbers so far and in the opinion of many also seeing the biggest spectator attendance, it’s very fair to say that the 2025 AMCA Weymouth Beach motocross was a massive hit! This super event always seems to deliver the goods with immaculate organisation by the Purbeck MXC in conjunction with the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club, raising big sums of money for local charities whilst also offering people the chance to watch some great motocross action for FREE. An added entertainment bonus this year was the appearance after a 10-year break of the famous Weston Beach race gorilla Andy Hobbs on his trusty red Honda quad. As expected, the gorilla was as mischievous as normal and delighting the massive crowd with all of his usual antics!

It's time for some Weymouth Beach Motocross sand surfing!

It’s that crazy time of the year again when the beautiful golden sands of Weymouth beach are transformed into a motocross track for the annual AMCA event. This coming Sunday, October 12^th, the action is set and ready to rock, and proving its undoubted popularity, entry levels are up for the 2025 bash, topping 300 plus riders! As per normal, the organising Purbeck MXC joins forces with the Weymouth and Portland Lions Club to promote the event, their aim to provide an exciting day of motocross sand surfing action. Although the spectating of that action is totally FREE for everyone, there will be the usual bucket collections and special souvenir programmes on sale, in the process raising as much money as possible for local charities.

2025 AMCA British MX Championship R6

Cheers, tears, drama and great racing were on the menu for the final round of the AMCA British Motocross Championship last weekend at Warmingham Lane in Cheshire. Hosted by the Middlewich MXC, there was though to be an interesting extra ingredient thrown into the mix thus making those medal hunters work just a little harder to get it over the line for glory! After a dry day one, rain moved in on Sunday thus totally changing track conditions. Despite that late twist though the title leaders of the respective classes remained composed and controlled to still put the required points on the board.

Warmingham goldrush!

It’s time to hand out the awards in the 2025 AMCA British Motocross Championship as the series reaches its conclusion this weekend at Warmingham Lane in Cheshire. And, proving just what an ultra-competitive, close and exciting title chase it’s been, more than one of the gold awards may not be decided until the final chequered flag drops!

2025 AMCA British MX Championship R5

Proving that’s it’s still a major draw for riders, the iconic Hawkstone Park had the ‘Entries Full’ signs up last Sunday. The event was the penultimate round of the 2025 AMCA British Motocross Championship and in what was always going to be a very tasty affair, the excitement levels then went up a notch or two with the inclusion of numerous ‘Wildcard’ competitors. Indeed one of those ‘Wildcards’ was to undoubtedly be the star of Sunday’s meeting so take a bow Lucy Barker!

It's going to be a round 5 'Park Run'

When a motocross championship reaches its penultimate round, there can be no better place to visit for raising excitement levels and getting that adrenalin flowing than the iconic Hawkstone Park! And, that’s the destination this coming Sunday, July 6^th for the latest 2025 AMCA title chasing adventures! So far, the opening four rounds have been staged as double header events with racing on both Saturday and Sunday each time. For Hawkstone though it’s the one-day format and three blocks of demanding, hotly contested and highly competitive action instead!

With the weather forecast being wildly incorrect and no expected rain falling during race weekend of the AMCA British Motocross Championship round 4 held at Lower Drayton, the organising Cannock MXC certainly had to be flexible and very proactive in their track preparation! And, they certainly got it right with the soft, loamy soil which prevails at Lower Drayton being in prime condition before as expected becoming brutal and rough! Despite the eventual tough going though, the action was again highly competitive as the finish line in the title hunt is now appearing just over the horizon!

How can I start?

This all depends on what discipline you want to start with – some require you to take a licence whilst others are more flexible and allow you to turn up and ride. Once you have opted for a discipline, see the FAQ for more tailored questions.

What is the difference between motocross, enduro, and trials?

These are all different disciplines the AMCA caters for, along with much more. Motocross is fast paced, short races over both natural and man-made terrain with 36 riders going into a first corner. Enduro is more long distance, long duration events, usually through woodland. Trials is slow paced, technical, balance based over challenging short course with the object to go through without putting your foot on the floor.
