The Weymouth Beach Race is organised and run by the Purbeck Motocross club. The club are based in the South West of England and have on average 10 members who all contribute massively to run the event. The club also have many people who volunteer to help from around the area and local business even close to help out. The Weymouth and Portland Borough Council have been great in supporting this right from the first event in 1984.
The event also raises money with contributions from the entry fees and programme sales for the local Weymouth and Portland Lions club. They use the money raised to help the blind and disabled with equipment, help with train fares to allow families to visit their sick children and also help the St John Ambulance staff to train their members and members of the public and they also help to provide entertainment for the elderly.
