After the blazing hot weather on Saturday, Sunday was cooler and great for riding. 32 turned up at Walsall’s trial at the Hobs Hole Lane motox track and tackled 4 laps of 10 sections.  The section setters had done their best to put on sections which provided a challenge while still being cleanable.

Only 3 Experts turned up to ride the tough sections and Jack Harris on his TRS was best on 40 marks. Andy Bolton riding a Yamaha TY250 was second on 57 and Tom Hanks having an off day was third on 78.

The well supported Clubman Class(50/50) was won by Peter Boettcher on a GasGas who was the clear winner with a loss of just 6 marks, making his trip from mid-Wales really count. Rob Badland on a Beta, a regular to the trial, was second on 20 marks with Dave Lewis on a Sherco just 1 mark behind on 21.

Section 6 the Pylon Steps caused the most problems for the Clubmen closely followed by section 9’s steep winding descent and cross camber climb.

In the Non-expert Class Robert Mycock brought out his trusty Majesty 280 and had a steady ride to win with a loss of 2.

Harley Lewis did one better than his dad and came 2nd on 6 marks lost just beating Simon Higgerson on a Beta 300 by 1

Adam Trow on a 270 GasGas, a member of the organising Walsall Club, and on only his second trial dropped just 21 to finish in 6th place. A good steady ride for a fast motocrosser.

On the white route Bruce Bolton on a Beta 200 managed to keep his feet up on all 4 laps and finished on 0.

Colin Shepherd on a Sherco 250 was 2nd on 27

Aga Fisher on a GasGas 125  managed to complete the course and was 3rd on 95 and won the Ladies award.

Many thanks to all who helped especially those who cut down the weeds in the days before the event.
