For many years the naturally undulating hillside circuit at Bushton in Wiltshire, the long standing home of the Mid Wilts MXC as staged some outstanding BSMA Youth club events. Now though the Mid Wilts club are affiliated to the AMCA and catering for both youth and adult riders.
And, this coming weekend the hardworking club will stage arguably their biggest event so far when they host round two of the Westermans BWMA British Women’s Motocross Championship. Once again there will be just about full line-up of BWMA female racers as Beth Farmer starts the defence of her title. Amongst her main rivals will certainly be Chelsea Gowland, buoyed by her fantastic moto win and eventual 3rd overall during the opening IMBA European Championship round last weekend in Switzerland. This event will be spread over two days of great action with racing for not only the fast Ladies but also a full support programme. For anyone wanting to enjoy the whole weekend at Bushton there will be camping available for £5, a disco on Saturday night and also late night catering.
In the last couple of months, Mid Wilts have battled some horrendous weather, literally spending hundreds of hours at Bushton to ensure that the circuit will be in tip-top condition. Mid Wilts are determined to make this event a roaring success in an attempt to hopefully be awarded further prestigious AMCA events in the future! So get along and give them your full support, it will be appreciated! Admission charges are just £3 for Adults if you arrive before 9am and £5 from there onwards with Children under 16 and OAP’s FREE. The circuit will be signposted between Calne and Lyneham at Hillmarton, postcode SN4 7PY.
