Round 2 of the 2011 IMBA MX1 European Championship takes place this weekend May 22nd with our British lads making the long trip to Krasny Dvur
in the Czech Republic.
With Brad O'Leary currently recovering from a hand operation and Shaun Pearce having suffered a recent back injury at Kerry, just three riders,Clinton Barrs,Lee Dunham and Richard Meakin will be flying the AMCA flag.
Following round one in Wohlen,Switzerland,Dunham on his IMBA MX1 debut posted a super 3/3/5 scorecard to earn a fantastic 3rd overall with Barrs also flying high and getting home in a strong 4th overall with Meakin 13th.Currently both in fantastic form,Dunham and Barrs must really fancy their chances of earning some podium glory in Krasny!!.
At Wohlen,Swiss 'wildcard' rider Reto Voglesang took top honours but is not expected to compete in any of the further IMBA events so the man to beat should be reigning Champion Frank Jansen-Teitz who sits in 2nd spot just 10 points infront of Dunham and Barrs a very narrow further 8 points in arrears.Other riders looking likely to be in the mix at Krasny are home favourite Thomas Lhotsky and the rapid Belgians of Jelle Grade and Vincent Collet.
Taking control of the team in the Czech Republic will once again be Eastbourne based Jackie Mitchell.Good luck to all of the AMCA Great Britain team on your European travels!!.
