Following another very successful season in the IMBA European Championship’s,the quest for honours start again this coming Sunday,April 10th as the lads representing Great Britain travel to the former GP circuit of Wohlen in Switzerland to contest the opening MX1 round of the new campaign.
Flying the flag for both their country and the AMCA in 2011 will be Brad O’Leary,Clinton Barrs,Richard Meakin,Lee Dunham and Shaun Pearce.
Both O’Leary and Barrs are now experienced IMBA MX1 campaigners and after posting great final top three positions in 2010 will certainly be confident of going one better in 2011.Indeed during last season,O’Leary led proceedings going into the final Dutch round, eventually falling just 24 points short of realising his ultimate dream.Rich Meakin also enjoyed plenty of success during the 2010 IMBA season, recording superb podium placings in both of the wet French and German rounds.
New team members for this year are Lee Dunham and Shaun Pearce. After brilliantly winning the IMBA MX2 title in both 2009 and 2010,Lee is already displaying fine form after moving up onto the big 450F machines and will also surely be a major contender in the shake-up for honours!!.Making his IMBA debut in Wohlen will be Shaun Pearce after finishing 7th in the home AMCA Championship during 2010.
Looking after the lads in Europe will again be Jackie Mitchell of Eastbourne.Good luck everybody and make sure you bring home that title!!.
TEAM GB IN RIDING ORDER 10 Shaun Pearce 11 Lee Dunham 12 Brad O’Leary 14 Clinton Barrs 15 Richard Meakin Team Leader Jackie Mitchell.
