Weymouth ready for a beach blast!!

Following their very successful hosting of the 2012 Olympic Sailing events,the Weymouth and Portland Borough Council welcome sporting action again to the popular Dorset coastal resort this coming weekend as they join forces with the Purbeck Motocross Club to stage the always popular AMCA Weymouth Beach Motocross on Sunday 14th October.
Now in its 27th year,this AMCA supported Beach blast raises funds for the local Weymouth and Portland Lions Club via contributions from riders entry fees and also programme sales.Crowd figures for the beach moto-cross are again expected to top the 10,000 mark,all watching the action for totally FREE.However Lions Club members will be undertaking their annual bucket collections throughout the day with all donations very gratefully accepted!!.
The exciting and very unique Weymouth event is split into three classes for Juniors,Seniors and Experts riders,all enjoying two moto’s each of varying duration.In the Experts class,the likes of IMBA and AMCA Champion Lee Dunham,former top three IMBA and AMCA finisher Matt Porter,Wiltshire ACU star Jamie Skuse,Veteran Terry House and rising ACU Youth rider James Harrison top the early entries.Juniors and Seniors winners in 2011, Leonard Paget and Jonathan Cole have also both already entered the 2012 bash.
Following the construction of the one mile circuit on Sunday morning,practice will be underway at midday with the first race blasting off at 1.00pm sharp!!.So get along to the beautiful and very vibrant Dorset seaside resort and enjoy not only the motocross action,but also the memorable hospitality offered by the Weymouth townsfolk!! You will be surely impressed!!.
