The AMCA Vets & 2-stroke Championship heads to the Herefordshire hillside this weekend for their third instalment of a thrilling three rounds on the bounce, as Hereford MXC promote round 5 of the 2012 series at their Walterstone venue.
Just 30 points seperate the top four Veterans with Matt Ryder now just 4 points behind series leader Brian Staples following his three race win maximum at Canada heights on Saturday. Series regular Colin Conduit is just a further 8 points in arrears to Ryder and 18 further back is Sean Smith. Stephen Baddeley & defending Champ Graham Nicklin head the chasing pack of four but look out for home club favourites Andy Watkins & Rob Prosser who have featured highly in previous rounds but have fallen away from championship contention due to injury & absence.
The 2-Strokes is looking like a tense head to head tussle for the crown as just a single point seperates the super fast duo of Sean Eckersley & Adam Harris. Eckersley holds the narrow advantage despite the chasing Harris taking the overall at Canada heights on Saturday. Over 100 points behind the runaway pair is a thrilling battle for 3rd between Thomas Herbert Marcus Carter & Sean Wrainwright with 21 points separating all three. Herefords own Terry Lloyd will be looking to bounce back on home soil having missed canada Heights and with it slipping from 3rd to 8th in the overall standings.
All in all both championships have reached a crucial stage and look set to provide some spectacular viewing this weekend at Walterstone
Walterstone can be found off the A465 Hereford-Abergavenny road.
