This coming weekend the 2011 IMBA MX2 title chase reaches its conclusion with the final round at Kleinau in Germany.
And once again,Team AMCA GB are on course to get riders home on the final Championship podium. At present, both Shane Holmes in 2nd and Jack Taylor 3rd are superbly holding down medal positions. However IMBA MX2 as been an unpredictable and competitive class this year and going into Sunday’s event,Holmes and Taylor will have to be at their best, as mathematically, riders right down to 11th place could still steal their potential moment of glory!!.In his debut IMBA season,Holmes has been in great form, starting on the box with a great 3rd overall at Dalecin,in the Czech Republic as Jack Taylor got home in 6th.Also inside the top ten was Carl Benjamin who bravely competed despite breaking his ankle just one week earlier at Hawkstone Park!!.
During round two on home soil at Brookthorpe,Benjamin then finished as top British rider in 4th with fellow AMCA lads Taylor 5th,Holmes 6th,Scott Mathia 7th and Scott Williams 9th all inside the top ten.Since that scorcher, the IMBA MX2 team have competed at Allaire,France,Groesbeek,Holland and Datwil,Switzerland.
Holmes was top finisher in France(4th) and Switzerland(5th) with Taylor(7th) the best Brit in Holland. So its onto the final showdown in Germany, good luck to all of our AMCA riders!!.
