North West/North Midlands derby

A huge thank you from all the committee and members of Charnock Richard MCC to everybody at Stockport MCC for all their help with organising and running our joint venture race on Sunday 21st August with what we believe to be the first ever Derby day ran between 2 separate groups (North West and North Midlands).
We had 209 riders, ran 7 blocks of races with 3 additional open Le-Man’s start fun races at the end of the day, trophies were awarded down to 5th for all groups and we had additional trophies for the most points accumulated for a single club and the winner was Mid Cheshire, we also had a trophy awarded for the most group points and the North Midland group won that (our revenge will come next year)
Both clubs also agreed to donate all the raffle prize money (£233) to a local charity raising money for a rare cancer cure for young children
A fantastic fun day was had by all, we also had a DJ booked for the day pumping out fast music accompanied by 2 beautiful 15 and 5 second board ladies (which went down extremely will with the lads)
Charnock and Stockport are already talking about running a similar event next year so please look out for the fixtures list when released by the AMCA.
And finally we would like to thank all the clubs and riders from the 2 groups for supporting the event and the AMCA for allowing it to happen.
