Burntwood Barracudas Club,proudly stage the home round of the IMBA MX1 European Championship this coming Sunday at Branston,near Burton-Upon-Trent.
Going into this round of the IMBA series,Brits Clinton Barrs and Lee Dunham are right on the heels of Championship leader and three times Champion Frank Jansen-Teitz from Germany.At present Barrs is holding 2nd spot just a very narrow five points off top slot with Lee Dunham in 3rd a further six points in arrears.Richard Meakin has also started the IMBA European series strongly and is in 11th spot with Brad O’Leary 26th and Shaun Pearce 36th despite both riders having missed round two.
With a double treat on offer,main support for the IMBA action is round five of a truly thrilling AMCA MX2 Championship chase.Following last weekend’s action at Little Bowden,Shane Holmes still leads the way with a 43 point advantage.Typical of the series,Holmes,Sean Frayne and Jack Taylor all won a race at Little Bowden.In the series standings,Ben Saunders is currently holding 2nd but now under attack,just two points ahead of the Little Bowden overall winner,the fast starting Paul Neale.
