Stockport MXC at Copple
Written by MIKE WOOD Tuesday, 19 April 2011 00:00
For some reason the Stockport MXC track at Copple appears to have its own micro climate and there’s no doubt it has been plagued by either too much rain, or too much dust during the last few years – well not anymore! On Sunday 17th April 2011 this spell was broken. All of the good omens came together to make what was to be a very pleasant day.
Even the most ardent sceptic had to concede and couldn’t notice the amount of work that has been put in and done by the Stockport members. Well done all!
The new jump was a hit with all of the riders, and spectators alike when the Experts appeared to use it more as a launch pad, propelling some of them in mid-air over 100ft down the track before landing! If you’ve not ridden at the newly designed Copple track, or had second thoughts about riding here, then don’t anymore. In fact, make sure you book early for the next event, otherwise you could be very disappointed.
In concluding, and on behalf of all of the riders and spectators, we would like to take this opportunity to wish Rob Shem a speedy recovery after his slight altercation yesterday. Get well soon Shem! The juniors need you back!
