Dursley MXC Presentation

Following another successful season which saw the Dursley MXC stage a superb round of the AMCA MX Championships,it was time to sit down,relax and enjoy their annual dinner and awards presentation evening on Saturday,January 7th at the Cotswold Edge Golf Club.
Over 100 guests attended,enjoying a three-course meal before picking up their deserved silverware and then dancing the night away,the entertainment quality enhanced by the charismatic involvement of Mr Mark ‘Marky’ Parmenter!!.
After seriously breaking his ankle back in October 2011,MX 1 Expert rider Kirk Baynton was to prove to be a very popular winner of the Riders Rider of the year whilst there was also a big smile in evidence and being displayed by Tetbury based Aarron Hardiman,the Inter Juniors winner.
The top two riders in the Dursley Club,Lee Dunham and Carl Benjamin both picked up awards for their fantastic efforts during their respective IMBA European Championship campaigns.Dunham,the current AMCA MX1 Champion also took home,for the fifth consecutive season,a shield presented to the highest scoring AMCA Championship rider in the Dursley MXC.Indeed,one of the first winners of this particular shield was a certain Mr Mike Dunham,Lee’s dad!!.
2012 certainly promises to be a busy and exciting year for the hard working Dursley MXC as they are due to promote both of the home IMBA European Championship rounds!!.The dates for your diaries are June 17th(MX2) and July 15th(MX1),the meetings being held at Nympsfield and also incorporating AMCA Championship racing.
