Written by AMCA OFFICE Friday, 26 February 2010
Following the AMCA’s Annual General Meeting held on Saturday 27th February 2010, the Amateur Motor Cycle signed up an impressive nine new off-road motorcycle Clubs. The new clubs are from an array of different disciplines, including modern and classic trials, classic scrambles, motocross, as well as a motoball club, which is a demonstration of football on motorcycles!
With a membership reaching almost 10,000 annually, the AMCA should permit around 1,000 off road motorcycle events in 2010 as well as reaching out to more and more riders from vast locations. Newly affiliated Whacky Wheelers are based in the Isle of Wight whilst the new Leadmines Trials Club are based in Northern Ireland. Motocross expansion is noticeable across England and Wales with four new motocross clubs including Rutland Riders, Gwent, Cressage, and Shawbury Motocross Clubs. The new MX Clubs are all on the lookout for new members, so riders are urged to join up quick to be able to compete at one of the lowest entry fee’s in the motocross industry.
The newly affiliated Sutton Coldfield, Leadmines and East Neuk Wobblers Trials clubs will continue to increase the AMCA dominance in modern and classic trials, as well as making it more accessible to the riders. Three Counties Classic Scrambles club is the last of the nine to boost classic scrambling across the Herefordshire area. The Classic scene continues its year by year growth, appearing to be unaffected by the recession.
As always, all of the club contacts are available on this website by slecting the clubs link, or by telephoning the office on 01543 466282. Any other new or existing clubs looking to join the AMCA will benefit from £30million event public liability cover and can do so for an annual affiliation fee of just £50!
