Just one week after clinching his 3rd AMCA British Motocross Championship title, Luke Burton (FUS FRO CPS Husqvarna) goes in search of another crown this weekend.
In Meijel, Holland on Sunday, Burton will look to wrap up an IMBA MX1 European Championship win, in doing so also be the first British rider since Gary Evans in 1990 to be victorious in the big bike class.
The superb Burton travels to Holland with a 63 point advantage over Belgian Frederic Weigert. In all five rounds so far held in Denmark, France, GB, Germany and Belgium, the FUS Husqvarna star has been on the podium and certainly with another repeat performance in Meijel the title will be his. Joining him on duty in the axle deep sand of Holland will be Ed Briscoe (Honda) currently in a fantastic 4th, Andrew Smart (MX ANSA TRM Honda) in 8th and Joshua Scott(Kawasaki). Briscoe a rider who enjoys the sandy terrain could even finish a great IMBA season off by claiming a medal position. At present Ed is just 27 points behind Swiss rider Daniel Huser so will certainly fancy his chances of bagging that series bronze! Good luck to the GB lads in this crucial final IMBA MX1 round.
