DIRECTORS Announcement

At the Board Meeting of the AMCA Directors on 19th September 2017 the formation of a Championship Committee was approved. The Committee will meet to discuss matters appertaining to all AMCA Championships. The committee will consist of five AMCA Directors and a minimum of two Championship riders. It is hoped that the formation of this dedicated committee will enable the main Motocross Committee to focus on the improvement of group level events. 

The meetings will be Chaired by Steve Harvey, the appointed Directors are Malcolm Brettle, Sue Cannings, Brad O Leary, Mick Penn and Nick Webster, Suzanne Potts will administer the meetings.


Sidecar Championship Final Round

This Sunday will see the Shobdon club host the final round of the 2017 AMCA Sideca Championship, get along to Shobdon to watch the 2017 Champions crowned.

2017 AMCA Magna Vitae Skegness Motocross Beach Race

The countdown has begun for the annual East Coast motorsport spectacular on Skegness Beach – the AMCA’s motocross beach race comes to town for the eighth consecutive year on the weekend of 4th and 5th November and promises to be another entertaining weekend.

The event has gone from strength to strength over the past eight years and now attracts riders from far and wide as it’s reputation for being one of the toughest beach races in the U.K. has proved a strong draw for motocross and enduro riders alike. Over 300 riders are expected to power round the purpose built course consisting of massive jumps, bomb holes, whoops, sweeping corners, fast straights and of course not forgetting passing under Skegness pier providing spectators with excellent opportunities to view the action. 

The weekend kicks off on Saturday at 10.30am with a Clubman solo race of ninety minutes duration followed by a two hour combined Quads and Sidecars battle. Then on Sunday, it’s the epic three-hour gruelling main solo race, with over 200 riders expected to do battle in the sand to chase down the £1,000 winners cheque.

The event remains free to spectate and provides thrill packed entertainment for the whole family from the safety of the recently refurbished Promenade and Pier. 

As usual, organising the Skegness Motocross Beach race are the Amateur Motor Cycle Association, the largest organising association for Off-road Motorcycle-Sport in the UK. The AMCA have as in previous years has worked with the Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure & Culture, East Lindsey District Council and East Lindsey Event Safety Advisory Group to ensure that the entire weekend is held in a manner that both compliments the town and also benefits the local economy by attracting people to Skegness during the closed season. The East Lindsey District Council have provided unwavering commitment to the Skegness Beach Moto-cross event right from day one, so it’s thanks to them, the towns people, local businesses and all the event sponsors for their ongoing backing which ensures the continuing success of this exciting event. Championship - VENUE CHANGE

The final round of the Championship due to be held at Norley by the Mid Cheshire club will now take place at LOWER DRAYTON, Postcode - ST19 5RE

Unfortunately the Norley track is waterlogged, the event will be held at Lower Drayton, please note that the timetable will remain the same however practice will start at 09:00am.

AMCA are holding an open day to which AMCA officials and licence holders are invited!
The open day coincides with the next Motocross Committee Meeting which will take place on Sunday 19th November. The Committee meeting including a fixtures discussion for 2018 and also the election for the Chairperson of the committee and  will start at 10am and conclude by 2pm with the open day following on straight after.
It is hoped to see some new faces at the Open Day and give as many people as possible the opportunity to meet the AMCA office staff and have a look at some of the archive material which will be on display.
If you would like to come along, either for the Motocross Committee Meeting, the Open Day or both please let the office know as we need to know numbers.

NEW Motocross Committee Chairman!

The Motocross Committee will elect it’s new Chairperson for a 12 month period at it’s next meeting on Sunday 19th November 2017.
If you are interested in volunteering for the role please contact Suzanne Potts in the AMCA office.
The closing date is 1st September, details of all candidates will be circulated with the agenda for the Motocross Committee meeting.

The next round of the British Classic Motocross Championship takes place at Bennetts Hill near Reading on Sunday 16th July, the event hosted by the Mortimer Classic MCC team is the 4th round of this top Classic Championship. The event is also going to incorporate many fundraising activities for the England Classic MX Des Nations team, who are fundraising for this year’s Classic MX Des Nations event taking place at Randers in Denmark on 9th September. The fundraising team are organising a Afternoon tea on Saturday 15th from 2pm followed by the Mortimer BBQ Tea where for £5 a ticket can be purchased for your evening meal of BBQ food, salads and a pudding! In the evening at the marquee there will be a chance to win prizes in the Classic Higher or Lower card game and also a auction of excellent prizes. On race day raffle tickets will be able to be purchased plus there will be interviews with this year’s England Classic MX Des Nation team members.
