(Eck) Hyland House

At the AGM held on Saturday February 28th at the AMCA Cannock office it was proposed and passed that the services of Eck Hyland the former Secretary/Treasurer be recognized by naming the Offices at Cannock as Hyland House.

Coalville 30th

Coalville Motocross Club celebrated its 30 year anniversary with a great get together of old friends and members early in March. Over 200 people attended the night and were entertained by Jiggy, a local Celtic Rock Band. Vintage video footage was also played along with a photo and memorabilia display. As with all good get together many beers were drunk and an old tale or two was told. Pity the younger members of the club who could not get away without the old codgers telling them how it was back in the day. The times before improved suspension, lightweight bikes and graded tracks! Despite the ear-bashing a good time was had by all.

Frank Green - Former AMCA Chairman and President

In the last edition of the Off Road Rider magazine it was announced that the last AGM had agreed to the offices at Cannock being called Hyland House in appreciation of the services given to the AMCA by a former Secretary, Eck Hyland. (Secretary from the 1935 to 1962). It was also agreed that Frank Green a former Chairman and the first President from 1964 until he died in 1991 be recognised and the room at the offices used for meetings including the AGM will in future be called the Frank Green room.

Walsall Milestone

Walsall Motor Cycle Club has been going for 60 years this September! The club have booked a hotel in Blackpool for a special celebration to mark the anniversary and the weekend will include the presentation of last year’s club trophies (if any past club members would like to come to Blackpool please contact Terry Braid on 01922 458544).
